The Walkthrough Before Any Work
We start by walking the room with you. We measure the existing cabinets, check how they are fastened to the wall, and look at what the plumbing and electrical will support. Median build year in Castle Rock is 2006, so most kitchens we see have a workable layout and tired surfaces. Our job at this stage is to find out whether the cabinets you are keeping are level and secure, because everything that goes on top of them depends on that.
What you want to keep and what you want to change goes into the written scope. Countertop, flooring, backsplash, lighting and appliances are each installed according to that scope, so anything not written down is not part of the job.
The Order We Work In
Cabinets come first. We level them and secure them to the wall before anything else goes on top. We use a dot laser for this so the lines are true across the whole run, not just at one end.
Countertops are templated after the cabinets are in place, never before. The template is taken from the cabinets as they actually sit, so if a box shifted or got re-shimmed after templating, the top would no longer fit it. Once the countertop is made, we install it, then the flooring, backsplash, lighting and appliances as the scope calls for them.

The Final Walkthrough
Before we call a kitchen finished, we go through it with you and test what gets used every day. We run the faucets, try the outlets, operate the appliances, open and close the cabinet hardware, and check the countertop surfaces. Anything that does not work right gets handled before we close the job out, not after you have already started cooking in the room.
What the Two Common Pieces Cost
Kitchen countertop installation typically runs $1,870 to $4,400, depending on the material and how much counter you have. A tile backsplash installation typically runs $500 to $1,700, depending on the tile and the area it covers. Call with your rough dimensions and material and we will quote a ballpark within those ranges, then firm it up after we have stood in your kitchen and seen your selections.
Plumbing or electrical changes behind the surfaces, such as those a new layout requires, get their own lines in our written quote, separate from the countertop and backsplash.
